CAPS
Mine it. Own it. Trade it.
A post-apocalyptic bottle-cap community currency you can mine, explore, and self-custody — for fun, for the community, and for learning how crypto really works.
Honest by design: CAPS is not pitched as an investment. Its value is real community use — tips, prizes, and perks across the wasteland.
01 What is CAPS?
CAPS is a small, honest proof-of-work coin with three jobs:
A themed collectible
A fun, wasteland-flavoured bottle-cap currency with its own art and lore. Something to earn, hold, and trade for the love of it.
Learn the whole stack
Mine it with an ASIC or a CPU, run a full node, browse the block explorer, and hold your own keys in a non-custodial wallet. No gatekeeping — the entire pipeline is open.
A community currency
Used for tips, prizes, and perks across the undergroundroots community. Value comes from being used, not from hype.
Transparency note: block 1 contains a 470,000 CAPS premine (used to seed the pool and community). Every other block pays the standard 50 CAPS reward. SHA256d proof-of-work, LWMA difficulty — the same battle-tested machinery as Bitcoin, just tuned for a community-scale coin.

03 Get started
⛏️ Mine CAPS
Point any SHA-256 miner at the community pool and get paid to your own CAPS address.
# ASIC miners
stratum+tcp://asicpool.space:8433 user: <your caps1 address> pass: x
# CPU / low-difficulty
stratum+tcp://asicpool.space:8434 user: <your caps1 address> pass: x
Don't have an address yet? Create one in the web wallet — your keys stay in your browser.
🖧 Run a full node
Build capsd from source (or grab a binary below), then drop this in your caps.conf:
server=1
daemon=1
txindex=1
rpcuser=choose_a_user
rpcpassword=choose_a_strong_password
addnode=caps.undergroundroots.ca
Start it with capsd and check progress with caps-cli getblockchaininfo. Default P2P port is 12566.
🔎 Explore & 🔐 self-custody
Watch the chain on the block explorer, and hold your own CAPS in the non-custodial web wallet (keys are generated, encrypted, and used entirely in your browser).
